Carl o Yāng is an alternative, indie artist, born and raised in the South Island of New Zealand, Aotearoa.
Brought up in a large extended family of musicians, poets and storytellers, Carl’s childhood was one saturated with artistic influence and musical inspiration.
From jamming with cousins late into the night, playing his uncle’s records and listening to his grandad’s powerhouse opera singing, Carl was soon an inspired and confident musician and songwriter.
His journey through this life has been a dance between the mountains and valleys of life.
Carl’s mission is to help encourage positive change and spiritual growth through his songs. His voice and musical performances have the ability to cut past the ‘monkey mind’ and speak straight to the soul of the listener.

Carl is set to release his 1st EP Regeneration early 2026, which he has completed with the help of established Wellington producer Nate Rapana. The EP contains six diverse tracks with lush productions, touching lyricism and captivating vocals.
