Karra Rhodes is a Scottish-born, Kiwi-based singer-songwriter crafting country-pop music that doesn\u2019t shy away from serious topics, while still being bold, energetic, and singable. Inspired by artists like Shania Twain, Carrie Underwood, and Delta Goodrem, she writes songs that confront real issues with honesty and grit, wrapped in melodies that stick and choruses you can scream sing out.<\/p>\n
In under 18 months, Karra has performed at some big events including the Great Kiwi Beer Festival and headlining the music side of the Hororata Glow Festival, as well as multiple Selwyn community events. She has opened for NZ pop artist PRINS at Christchurch Town Hall, with more festival appearances ahead, including the Wairarapa Country Music Festival in January 2026.<\/p>\n
Her single Tell Me Mama<\/em> earned a finalist spot at the 2024 MLT Songwriting Awards, while Burn It Down<\/em> was recognised as a semi-finalist in the International Songwriting Competition and, last but not least, her namesake of her album, Hometown Therapy<\/em>, was hailed by \u2018The Rolling Stone AUS\u2019 as one of the best new tracks of New Zealand for that release week.
