Dead Cherry’s debut EP has been a long time in the making. Contained within the four tracks of Mother, the listener will experience music that ranges between mellow, melodic tracks and action-packed rock with a vengeance. The lyrics woven within the EP are the work of charismatic frontwoman Jodie Gummer, conveying emotion in a way that allow her personal stories to be universally felt.

The music behind the lyrics is carried by Beau Redding on guitar, David “Chops” McIntosh on bass, and Andy Russell on drums. The trio of powerhouse musicians have been working alongside Jodie for many years as one of Wellington’s busiest and most-loved covers bands. During this time they have crafted a sound that is unique and well honed. Thoughtful arrangements that blend heavy and soft, calm and frantic, reserved and unhinged, are found throughout the EP – a perfect jumping off point for Dead Cherry, one of Aotearoa’s up and coming rock sensations.

Mother drops on 21 November 2025 – and Dead Cherry are wasting no time bringing it to life. The band will hit the stage at Wellington’s Underworld Tavern the very next night, Saturday 22 November, along with powerhouse support acts Favoured and How To Human. Purchase Tickets Here.
