Indie-Pop & R&B Artist Lily Stiven Releases New Single ‘Not My Own’

18-year-old singer-songwriter Lily Stiven is making a powerful statement with the release of her brand-new single Not My Own, out today on all streaming platforms. To mark the occasion, Lily will celebrate with her first ever headline show tonight, Friday October 3rd, at Big Fan, Auckland.

With its fearless blend of indie-pop energy, Not My Own introduces listeners to a striking new era of Lily’s artistry. The track dives into themes of identity and self-ownership, balancing raw honesty with a confident, unforgettable sound.

“This song means so much to me and it’s been a longtime coming” says Stiven. “Releasing it and performing it live on the same night feels like the perfect way to start this next chapter. I want people to leave the show feeling like they’ve shared in something real.”

Lily has been steadily carving out her name in Aotearoa’s music scene, becoming a three-time Play It Strange finalist, receiving the NZ On Air Artist Development Fund in 2023, and releasing a string of standout independent singles that showcase her versatility and vulnerability. With Not My Own, she cements her place as one of New Zealand’s most magnetic young artists.

Tonight’s show at Big Fan will see Lily’s bring her dynamic stage presence to life, performing fan favourites including “william’s tragedy”, “look where i am”, and “what’s the worst i could do”, before unveiling Not My Own live for the very first time.
