Powder Chutes are a rapidly rising, young rock band from Wānaka, New Zealand, known for their incendiary live performances and fiercely original sound which blends modern grunge, punk and hard rock drawing comparisons to bands such as Tool, Highly Suspect, and Soundgarden.
“Everybody wake up… these boys have got the sauce!” – Johnny Stevens, Highly Suspect
The band are taking time out from crafting their sophomore album with legendary Producer Dave Rhodes (Blindspott, Devilskin), for a national tour and are joined by The Boondocks, the formidable two-piece riff rock band known as “New Zealand’s Loudest Little Band,” who’ve quickly established themselves in the local rock scene with their high-energy, DIY approach.
Despite frothing the same crowds, and featuring on many of the same radio playlists and media platforms, the two bands haven’t yet played together, so this has been a long while coming, and is not to be missed.
Rather than ‘Support bands’ the tour will feature a plethora of exciting Special Guest slots from incredible bands such as Auckland’s Coast Arcade, The Tron’s Haast Hunter, The Splinters, Fübar!, Superficial, Ragweed and Courtnay & the Unholy Reverie.
